Turning Blood-Stained "Gun-Free Zones" Into "Gun-Crime-Free Zones"
I am always amazed by the enthusiastic attempts of liberals to outlaw guns in the hands of the innocent victims and law-abiding citizens whenever a murderer shoots people. Op-Ed pieces and Hollywood liberals are already claiming that the NRA and the prevalence of guns are one of the main reasons behind the murder of 33 students and professors at Virginia Tech.
On the contrary, the gun violence makes me even more dedicated to carrying my concealed weapon wherever I go and encouraging other good citizens to do the same! Can anybody else see the connection between the shootings at Virginia Tech, the sniper attacks in D.C. and Baltimore, the Amish and Columbine massacres, and all of the public school shootings? They all occur at "gun-free zones." Even insane murderers aren’t stupid. Even suicidal butchers of innocent people want to succeed at killing innocent people, and gun-free zones are the safest place to do that.
In 2006, Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker said he was happy that the General Assembly voted down a bill that would have given qualified college students and employees the right to carry handguns on campus, according to the Roanoke Times. In June 2006, Virginia Tech's governing board approved a violence prevention policy that reaffirmed the school's ban of law-abiding students carrying the means to defend themselves against homicidal mass murderers.(1) No other school policy was more responsible for the massacre than this one. Even if just a small percentage could have carried on their person the means of their defense, the death toll may have been much less. Indeed, the murderer may not have even acted on his temptations if he had the knowledge that students could have shot back. Instead, the students cowered under their desks and barricaded doors praying for the police to arrive as the murderer slaughtered them from room to room, one by one. Meanwhile, police were captured on video hiding behind trees outside.
Gun control and confiscation disarms the law-abiding people, those that are more likely to be victims of gun violence, whereas gun control and confiscation encourages would-be murderers to act out their blood-thirsty temptations. I do not believe that those who want to disarm the law-abiding public have the public’s best interest at heart. Injustice is never in the public’s best interest, and it is unjust to respond to gun crimes by depriving the innocent and the victims of their God-given right of self-defense and their constitutional right to carry the means of that defense on their person. According to the Bible, you punish crime by punishing criminals with a means sufficient to discourage the crime. If you want to stop the next shooting, don’t disarm the citizens and victims, encourage them to defend themselves and execute convicted murderers. Turn the bullet-ridden, blood-stained "gun-free zones" into "gun-crime-free zones" by letting law-abiding citizens carry concealed weapons.
