Getting Home

RE: RightRemedy.org: Getting Home
I was baptized when I was 19. I am now 58. I spent my life building a fortune then lost hundreds of millions in the latest robbery by the banks; however that matters not. I have wanted to turn my life around to God and his son Jesus Christ. Now I am dying of cancer and know that soon my life here will be gone. As I lay in bed this morning I read your article and I said this man believes as I do only I failed to follow the Lord as I should. Each moment is filled with my pleading to God to help me get home. I am willing as the leper said to Jesus and Jesus said I will. I have owned jets, helicopters, exotic cars, luxury homes, and I have sinned...I want to sin no more. I await your prayerful thought
Dr. J responds:
Dear "D":
What a wonderful place to be, my friend! Oh to be at the end of your life with nothing to cling to but the Savior! He tells us to forgive "seventy times seven" , to forgive as you've been forgiven. He commands us to love our enemy, to turn the other cheek, to bless those who cause us suffering? Shall he command us to be holy in a sense that He will not be? You may have grieved Him with your apathy and sin your whole life, but like the thief on the cross, it all is washed away with one loving word of the Savior. Believe and the slate is clean. Call upon His name and you enter the Kingdom. I will pray for you, that God's presence envelops you like never before. You won't believe what He has in store for you. "At His right hand are pleasures forever more."
Your friend,
Patrick Johnston
